Mgr Leo White RIP

Born in Malta in March 1929.  
Ordained 29th July 1956 as a Capuchin Franciscan Monk
Served as Capuchin Franciscan Friar in Columbia (1960-68) & as Naval Chaplain in Valetta, 
1969 - he went to Kenya and built up the Diocese of Garissa on the Sudanese border, where he was a member of the Kenyan Bishops' Conference 
1984 - Incardinated into the Diocese of Brooklyn
1994 - Returned to U.K. to serve at St George's Cathedral, Southwark.  
He was part of the clergy team at St Bede's parish from 1997 until 2001, when he retired. 
1997 - founded our Latin American community, setting up the weekly Saturday evening Mass
Since his 'retirement' he has maintained close links with St Bede's and is the Chaplain to our UCM group, saying Mass for them on Thursday evenings.
April 2017 - he moved back to live with us in Clapham - and continued to brighten everyone's day!
31st July 2018 - Mgr Leo passed away at St George's Hospital 💔😢
