Corpus Christi: Today (and last Thursday in the Old Rite) we celebrate the greatest of all the Sacraments. Everyday Mother Church offers to feed us with the Bread of Life, the medicine of immortality. As one of the greatest modern English authors says; ''Out of the darkness of my life, so much frustrated, I put before you the one great thing to love on earth: the Blessed Sacrament.....There you will find romance, glory, honour, fidelity, and the true way of all your loves upon earth, and more than that: Death: by the divine paradox, that which ends life, and demands the surrender of all, and yet by the taste (or foretaste) of which alone can what you seek in your earthly relationships (love, faithfulness, joy) be maintained, or take on that complexion of reality, of eternal endurance, which every man's heart desires.'' (The Letters of J.R.R Tolkien, no. 43 to his son). May we pray for a greater devotion to the Blessed Eucharist!

Corpus Christi Procession: Sunday 24th June starting at St Bernadette School at 3pm.

June - Month of the Sacred Heart: The supposedly warm month of June reflects the burning heart of Our Blessed Lord who says in the Gospel “Come to me all of you who are heavy laden and I shall give you rest: shoulder my yoke and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of HEART”. This ancient devotion reminds us of the incarnation. St Teresa of Avila says when we find it difficult to pray we should just think of the humanity of Christ; then we just talk to him and spend time with him in a way that is natural. The gift of faith should be nourished by our piety on a daily basis as should any important relationship.

Next Sunday - First Holy Communion:  Our first group children will make their first Communion at the 1pm Mass.  The remainder will make their Communion on Sunday 17th June.

FHC DVD Orders:  If you haven’t already done so, please hand in your form today.  In order to comply with the changes in Data Protection, we need a form back from each family regardless of whether you are placing an order or not. Please be aware: We need a certain number of orders to be able to secure the videographer - if we do not receive a sufficient number of orders - we will refund the money to those who have already paid.

Today - UCM Coffee, Cake & Table Top Sale:  with raffle too following the 9.30am & 11am Masses.
