7th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Old Rite: Sexagesima Sunday)

Changes to this week's Mass times:
Wednesday 22nd: No 9am Mass.  At 11am we will have the Requiem Mass of Margo Richardson

Welcome to Fr John Bosco BukombaFr. John, belongs to Apostles of Jesus Missionary Order, (First African Missionary Order founded in Uganda in 1968). He was born and raised up in Uganda, and worked in the diocese of Hexham and Newcastle for 5 years.  For the past 5 years, he has been in the Wrexham Diocese, and is the Parish Priest of Dolgellau Parish in Snowdonia.  (Fr Hugh Thwaites was based in Dolgellau a short period).  Fr John is also chaplain to the only surviving Carmelite Monastery of Nuns in Wales as well as being responsible for the Churches in Bala & Barmouth.  He will be with us for a few days swapping with Fr Chris.

Fr Christopher: is away for a few days visiting his brother who is on sabbatical in Dolgellau.   

Requiem Masses: This Wednesday (22nd) 11am Margo Richardson.  Monday 27th 12noon: Carmell Davis. 

St Bede's Youth Club: No Youth club tonight - back next week!

Shrove Tuesday – Mardi Gras Bazaar Reception: Tuesday 28th February at 7.30pm in the club.  All those who helped with the bazaar come for a drink and bite to eat.  We will go over the results and think about how we might do somethings better!

'Special Sunday' – 11am Mass: Music will be: 

  • Ordinary: Simile est regnum (Tomas Luis de Victoria); 
  • Offertory: Super flumina Babylonis (Giovanni Perluigi de Palestrina); 
  • Communion: Exaltabo te, Domine (Giovanni Croce) 
  • After Communion: Ave regina caelorum (William Byrd).  
Music provided by Cantores Missae under the direction of Mr Charles Finch.  The next 'special Sunday' will be on Laetare Sunday - 26th March.

Family Bingo at St Bernadette's School: The Friends of St Bernadette’s are holding a family bingo night on Wednesday 22nd February 6.30-8.30pm.  Come and join the fun! Entry fee is £1 per family.  Hot food and other refreshments available. Raffles & Music. Bingo cards £3 per game or 4 games for £10.  Kids bingo only 50p per game.  See poster for more details.  Donations of prizes will be gratefully received.

Healing Mass: Saturday 25th February at Sons of Divine Providence Chapel of Our Lady of Westminster (25 Lower Teddington Road, Hampton Wick, KT1 4EU).  There will be Mass, Adoration, Prayers, Intercessions, Benediction and Anointing of the Sick.  Please see poster for more details.

London Evenings of Faith- February & March 2017: All are welcome to a series of talks on 'Reasons for believing’ which will take place at 7:30pm on alternate Tuesdays (talks are on Tuesday 21st February, 7th March & 21st March). Lambeth FACE: To aid Lambeth residents with financial support, Metropolitan Housing Trust & Lambeth Council have partnered up to provide a free debt & benefit service called “Lambeth FACE”.  During February & the coming months, they will be holding a number of courses & money workshops to help Lambeth residents.  There are posters displayed at the back of church for following events: “Planning Your Journey” (Thurs 23rd) – Our free interactive workshops are fun and informative, packed with useful tips and techniques to help your money go further; “Money Mentors Training” (Tues 28th 11am -3pm) – train to become a Money Mentor volunteer and gain valuable experience supporting others.   You will receive FREE specialised training and certification too and "New Direction" - a workshop designed for people who have recently entered new employment.
