5th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Old Rite: V Sunday after Epiphany)

Changes to this week's Mass times:
Monday 6th: No 9am Mass.  Instead there will be another Federation Mass at 9.40am.  Following this we will have the Requiem for Dorothy Glencross Miller (fr Chris's Aunt)
Thursday 9th: No 9am Mass or Adoration/Benediction.  At 11.15am we will have the Requiem Mass for Tony Frost.  Please see the newsletter or check with Fr Chris if 12.30 Latin Mass will happen this week.
Friday 10th: Adoration and Benediction after the 9.30 Mass.

"Offering Up": Before the revolutionary changes in the Church, every Catholic knew what it meant to offer up something for someone else or for something we really wanted.  Today our children look at me blankly when I use this expression.  The Lord Jesus sacrificed himself for humanity.  Parents sacrifice for their children.  Spouses sacrifice themselves for their partners.  We Christians can make little sacrifices everyday by offering up our ill health or bad luck for someone or something that needs prayers. Some of us in the presbytery have had a most horrible cold bug.   After appealing to people to offer up their little crosses for Cardinal Burke and the other Pastors of the Church, standing up for the traditions of the Gospel, I volleyed my own discomfort upwards for his intentions.  Please do the same at this critical moment for the Church and the world.  God bless, fr Christopher

Outstanding Masses from 2016: There are still over 100 Masses still unassigned from last year and we are trying to fit these in as soon as we possibly can whilst still trying to accommodate current requests for anniversaries and those who are really ill.  Therefore we ask for your patience and understanding, and bear with us until at least the end of March.  In these circumstances, when a parish has such an excess, we are supposed to send to other parishes, but we will try to say as many as we can in St Bede's.

Could you help us find a flat or house in London?  It would be, God willing, for one month during the Summer. We would like a place with 3 (or 2 if necessary) bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom & living room - for a married couple with four children.

Fr Tom Uzhunnalil: Please pray every day for this poor Salesian priest from India who was kidnapped by ISIS in Yemen last March after they murdered several of Mother Teresa’s sisters.  On the internet, you can see how disturbed he is with good reason.
