Congratulations to Laura Lowney: who, on Wednesday (10.30am), will be formally inducted by Bishop Patrick Lynch as Co-Head (with Mrs Ostrynska) of St Bede’s Infant & Nursery School.

June - Month of the Sacred Heart: The supposedly warm month of June reflects the burning heart of Our Blessed Lord who says in the Gospel “Come to me all of you who are heavy laden and I shall give you rest: shoulder my yoke and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of HEART”. This ancient devotion reminds us of the incarnation. St Teresa of Avila says when we find it difficult to pray we should just think of the humanity of Christ; then we just talk to him and spend time with him in a way that is natural. The gift of faith should be nourished by our piety on a daily basis as should any important relationship.

Welcome to Fr Julian Romero Sanchez: He was born 1980 in Puebla Mexico.  He is the eldest of 3 brothers.  He entered the Seminary at aged 15 in Tlaxcala, and was ordained there in 2009.  He was Assistant Priest in 2 different parishes until last year when he began studying Canon Law at the University of Salamanca in Spain.  He is here for 2 months.

Welcome to Fr Frederich Kernbach: ordained the very same day (!) in 2012 as was Fr Pawel in Paderborn, Germany.  He has been living at the Birmingham Oratory (founded by Cardinal Newman) for the last year.  He will be here for a week.

FHC Group 2 Rehearsal: The second group will be making their First Communion next Sunday at 12.30pm Mass. The rehearsal will be held on Friday at 1.45pm. Last day for DVD orders - Sunday 19th June.

Easyfundraising: Don’t forget to use our Easyfundraising page when you are shopping online.  Your support of our parish through this and the Gift Aid scheme is greatly appreciated.

Summer Fayre: Every year our two schools, St Bede & St Bernadette come together to organise their annual summer Fayre. This year it will be Friday 24th June starting at 5pm at St Bede’s School. Please do come and support them. It is fun for all ages & St Joseph’s statue will be out so that Our Lady will not allow him to get wet!
