May - The Month of Our Lady: This beautiful month with blossoms, flowers and magnificence of colour is dedicated to our Blessed Lady. St Bernadette of Lourdes said “nothing down here can compare to the beauty which I have seen”. The natural beauty of spring and summer is a reflection of the beauty of the Creator. Also in the book of Acts our Blessed Lady is seen in the midst of the Apostles and early Christians praying for the gift of the Holy Spirit. In the same way we follow the example of Mary, Mother of the Lord in praying for the graces that each of us need.

Flowers needed for Our Lady's Statue: During the month of May the Statue of Our Lady is on display in the Church. Please bring small posies of flowers to place around her feet.

Special Collection for the needy of Ukraine: On the 3rd April, during his Regina Caeli address, Pope Francis asked that all Catholic Churches in Europe take up a special collection for those who are suffering the consequences of violence in Ukraine. He said: “I invite the faithful to join in this initiative with a generous contribution. This act of charity, in addition to alleviating material suffering, seeks to express my personal closeness and solidarity and that of the entire Church.”

Gift Aid: Maria Chang, our Gift Aid co-ordinator will be handing out the new boxes of envelopes next weekend. If you are not yet a participant of the Gift Aid Scheme, please consider joining as it greatly helps the parish finances – at absolutely no cost to you!  (Your Mass intention stipends and Diocesan Collections are too.)
