3rd Sunday of Lent

For this week's Masses - Click Here
Stations of the Cross: 5pm Sundays in Lent

Welcome to Fr Stephen Boyle: He was born and raised in nearby Tooting Bec and was educated at Salesian College, King’s London and in Rome. Fr Stephen is the Parish Priest of St Anslem’s, Dartford (previously PP of Good Shepherd in New Addington). He is a member of the FAITH Movement which attempts an intellectual synthesis between evolutionary science and faith and is the Spiritual Director and Southwark Chaplain to the ‘The Guild of St Stephen’. He organises and runs the “Altar Servers Summertime” at Woldingham every August and also the October Half-Term trip to Rome for Servers each year. His brother is a priest in Washington State and his sister Susan helps run our ‘Pray, Play and Tumble’ group! (Fr CB is in Dartford today)

Lenten Extra Daily Mass: A very disappointing turnout for the weekday Masses, we should try to at least go to one extra Mass in the week. Perhaps we will have to start thinking of cancelling some of the many Masses we have on offer if there is no take-up.  Sad :-(

24 Hour Vigil - This Friday: The Holy Father has asked us to put on this vigil to celebrate the Mercy of God. Exposition on Thursday 3rd will therefore be cancelled and after the Friday Mass at 9am we will expose until the Saturday Mass at 9am. In between there will be the first Friday recollection for ladies at 9.30, the Polish Mass at 3.45, followed by Divine Mercy Devotions.  Confessions available in English, French, Polish and Arabic and at 9pm we will have Traditional Devotions led by our Redemptorists from Papa Stronsay – Fr Yousef & Fr Louis Marie (who will also be our Lenten preachers for the weekend). We finish with solemn Benediction at 8.40am and Latin Mass at 9am.  The sign up sheet is at the back of Church; please put your name down for at least one of the 30 minute slot.

The Requiem for Chrissy Connaughton RIP: On Monday 29th February at 12.15pm. There will be a reception in the club afterwards.

Special Sunday - Next Week: Ordinary: ‘Missa Vulnerasti cor meum’ (Morales); Offertory: ‘Ave maris stella’ (Victoria); Communion: ‘Exaltabo te, Domine’ (Croce) and after the Gospel: ‘Ave regina caelorum’ (Byrd); Sung by Cantores Missae under the direction of Charles Finch.

Tenebrae - Spy Wednesday (24th March) 7pm: As in previous years the Cantores Missae choir will be singing Victoria's poignant and powerful settings of the Responsories for the Office of Tenebrae.

My Apologies: Fr CB forgot to book La Retraite for the Traditional Triduum (he has booked for 2017). Therefore Palm Sunday 11am, Maundy Thursday 6pm, Good Friday 5pm, Holy Saturday 3-8pm.
