32nd Sunday OT (Old Rite: 24th Sunday after Pentecost)

Mass time changes this week: 
  • Tuesday - there will no 9am Mass.  At 9.30am there will be Mass at St Bernadette School.
  • Thursday - 9am Mass will be moved to 9.40am for St Bede's School.  Therefore Exposition and Adoration will start at 10.45am.
Bazaar - Friday 27th & Saturday 28th November: less than 3 weeks to go …
Draw Tickets: are available, please take some home; sell them to friends and family and then return the counterfoils and money – in a sealed envelope as soon as possible!     
Bottle Stall: Please bring in bottles of wine, spirits and soft drinks. This wonderful stall is always popular and helps the atmosphere and the takings of the Bazaar as a whole. How about donating your ‘Buy-One-Get-One-Free’ offers that you may be getting with your supermarket shop!
Please bring in: Good-as-new toys, Jewellery, DVD’s, fancy goods, Religious articles, your handmade crafts and jams. Only bring items which are new or almost-new (no dumping!).
Latin American Bistro will take place next Saturday 21st November after their Mass. Their Bingo night held on 24th October raised £2000 - well done!
Next Meeting: Monday 16th November 7pm – please come along and offer your support & help!   
Next Week: Bistro menus and dinner places will be on sale.

Special Sunday - 11am Mass today:  Ordinary – Missa pro defunctis by Giovanni Francesco Anerio and Communion by Versa est in luctum – Jose de Torres y Martinez Bravo. Music provided by Cantores Missae under the direction of Mr Charles Finch.

Annual Blessing of the Graves today at 3pm: at Streatham Park Cemetery, Rowan Rd. From the main gate, proceed along the path ahead; at the end, turn left.  We meet about half way along on the right hand side, beside the new tombs. Please come prepared for wet weather & slippery conditions underfoot. Please note that darkness falls quickly, & the cemetery will close at 4pm, so this activity may need to be curtailed. Also, our priests will need time to return to their parishes for evening Mass.

Cardinal Burke: will be coming to England this week to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Latin Mass Society. On Saturday (14th) His Eminence will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Extraordinary Form at St James’s in Spanish Place at 11am and then he will go to Westminster Cathedral to celebrate LMS’ annual Requiem Mass at 2pm. On Sunday he presides at the CIEL conference at the London Oratory at 2pm. Fr Andrew will be there too.

African & Caribbean Association: a brief meeting will be held after today's 9.30 Mass to discuss the upcoming bazaar. 


Margaret Howard: is moving to Rottingdean on Tuesday after over 40 years in this parish. We thank her for her reading, bidding prayers, being a school governor and being a consulter on a variety of issues especially music. God bless – we will greatly miss you!  


New Choir Members Wanted: Would you like to join our Choir? They meet on Tuesday evenings 7-9pm for rehearsals and sing at 9.30 Mass on Sundays. Why not speak to Juan Garcia on Sunday

Welcome to God's Church: Arthur Peter Bao Grimer, son of Thomas and Marsha baptised at St Thomas’ Hospital at birth (before surgery). Ceremonies supplied here last Saturday. Congrats!


Physics & Theology Brain-Teaser: Holy Ghost Parish - Balham, in partnership with St Mary’s University - Twickenham, is hosting a presentation and discussion with 5 academics from St Mary’s on how physics and theology interact. The event will take place at Holy Ghost School - Nightingale Square - Balham SW12 8QJ on Monday 30 November 2015 - 7.30pm for 8pm until 10pm. APF Red Boxes: Don’t forget you can drop your Red boxes in at any weekend Mass if it is full. We will empty it and return to you ASAP – please make sure your name and address is written on the label at the bottom so we know who you are!

St Bede's Social Club: is open on Sundays 12pm to 3pm and Fridays 8.30pm to 11pm.  Games are available - please ask bar staff.


Union of Catholic Mothers: meet every Thursday during term-time.  8pm Mass followed by meeting in the social club. 



'Pray, Play & Tumble': meet on Tuesday mornings 10.15am to 12noon.  Beginning in church for action praise songs, a bible story, quiet time and short prayers.   The social rooms are open for conveniences and pram parking from 9.30am - 9.55am and then afterwards for play and refreshments.  Optional session in the school soft ball room too for those who wish.  Do join us.  Contact email for further details: susan2468@gmail.com
