25th Sunday OT (Old Rite: XVII Sunday after Pentecost)

Bazaar 2015 - Friday 27th & Saturday 28th November: Please put this important date in your diaries and start thinking seriously about your ideas of how to make this year’s annual Bazaar the best ever.  On Tuesday 22nd at 7.30pm we will hold our first preparation meeting.

First Communion 2016:  This weekend we will distribute the applications forms for the FHC programme.  First Communion is parish based - that means that applications should come from members of this liturgical community.  At St Bede's we usually have the English Language FHC ceremonies on the first two Sunday of June (This also includes those from the Latin American community).  The Latin Mass community have theirs usually in May.  Children must be Year 3 or above.

Confirmation 2016: Bishop Patrick Lynch has asked if he might come and give Confirmation on Sunday 3rd July.  That gives us a bit more time to prepare.  Applicants must be in Year 8 at least.

Special Sunday - Today at 11am Mass: The music will be -
  • Ordinary – Missa Quarti toni by Tomas Luis de Victoria.
  • Offertory – Ave maris stella me by Tomas Luis de Victoria.
  • Communion – Sicut Cervus by Giovanni Perluigi de Palestrina.
Performed by Cantores Missae under the direction of Charles Finch and made possible thanks to a generous support from the Latin Mass Society for which we are most grateful.

2nd Collection - Home Mission Sunday: is celebrated today and is themed: Proclaim God’s Mercy.  On this day we are encouraged to pray for the work of evangelisation in England & Wales, remembering in our prayers especially those whom we know are distant from the life of faith.  Please support the second collection which funds the Bishops’ national work of evangelisation and the development of this year's Proclaim ’15: Building Missionary Parishes initiative.  The collection also ensures that the Catholic Faith Centre is resourced to respond to those who have questions about the Catholic Faith.  It is possible to donate online at www.catholicnews.org.uk/donations. Commemorative prayer cards are available to take away.  Please support the work of Home Mission through your prayers and generosity.  For more information see www.catholicnews.org.uk/hms15.

UCM Cake, Raffle & Table Top - Next Sunday: after the 9.30 & 11am Masses.  There are always lots of great prizes and yummy cakes for sale.  Please come along and support them.

Annual African & Caribbean Association Thanksgiving Mass: will take place on Sunday 11th October at 12.30pm.  There will be a small reception in the club afterwards.
