12th Sunday Ordinary Time B (Old Rite: IV Sunday after Pentecost)

Shroud of Turin Exhibition to come to St Bede's:  As Pope Francis visits the actual Shroud in Turin, we are privileged to have a superb exhibit here courtesy of Pam & Philip Moon.  It was only with the advent of modern photography that the detail of the Shroud was realised.  The Shroud is some sort of negative of something extraordinary that happened.  (Resurrection?)  Thirty years ago, scientists dismissed it but now increasingly carbon dating and pollen analysis demonstrate that it is 2000 years old and that it had been in the Holy Land! There are books for sale as well priced at £3.

Welcome back to Fr Andrew:  and also welcome to Fr Thomas Crean and Fr Gabriel Diaz Patri.

Welcome to Fr Yohanes Benny Suwito:  from Indonesia.  He will be staying with us for a couple of months in order to improve his English.

Readers needed for Sunday 6pm Masses:  We need two more readers for the Sunday evening Mass (the new rota will be available from next weekend).  Please write your contact details down clearly and leave at the Presbytery.

Summer Fayre - this Friday 5pm - 8pm: Every year our two schools (St Bede & St Bernadette) come together to organise our annual summer Fayre.  Please do come and support our schools.  It is fun for all ages and we will put St Joseph’s statue out that day so that Our Lady will not allow him to get wet!

Family Lunch: On Sunday 12th July, the African & Caribbean Association are organising a family lunch in the club following the 12.30 Mass.  Tickets cost £5 each or £12 for a family of four and will be available at the 9.30 Sunday Masses.

Congratulations to Washington & Anelise Da Silva who gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday.  Fr Andrew has come over from Rome especially to baptise their first born.
