Easter Sunday

Easter: The culmination of Lent and Holy Week is of course Easter but our celebration cannot be exhausted in one day.  Therefore, Mother Church gives us a week’s Octave when we celebrate more solemnly, and then 50 days until Pentecost (24th May); so that we may truly savour and experience the implications of the Resurrection in our own lives.  Happy Easter to you all!   Fr Christopher, Fr Andrew, Fr Lukasz and Msgr Leo White.

St Patrick's Night:  Thank you to everyone who attended the St Patrick’s Night event held on 21st March.  A profit of £400 was made.  Also thank you to Mick & Giselle Cronin for organising the event.

Boiler: Although we have heat, Mitie has found asbestos around the old piping so the new pipe work has been delayed.

New Readers Rota (April-June 2015): is available at the back of the Church.  Please pick up your copy today.

Future Dates:- Check out the calendar for upcoming events.

Lourdes - 2015 Diocesan Pilgrimage: The Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes (with the Catholic Association) will take place this year from Fri 21st–Fri 28th August. This year’s theme is ‘Joy of Mission', taken from the Evangelii Gaudium. 2015 is a special year for us in the Diocese of Southwark. Archbishop Peter mentioned in the Foreword in this year’s Southwark Directory - “This year marks a milestone on our diocesan journey as we celebrate 50 years as our diocese was raised to an ‘Archdiocese and Metropolitan See’ ”.

Marriage MoT: All married couples, no matter how long ago they wed, are invited to attend a diocesan marriage-enrichment day on Saturday April 25, from 9.45am to 4.30pm at Holy Cross school, New Malden. It will enable them to explore their relationship more deeply and improve their communication skills. Couples will also gain valuable insights into the call of the Church to the married. Donation: £25 per couple. For details or to book (essential) phone Deacon Philip Pond on 020 8651 2477 or email marriage2014@virginmedia.com

SPUC’S Annual Pro-Life Chain: (a peaceful roadside witness holding pro-life banners) will take place in over 50 locations in the UK. The pro-life chains are held every year at this time to commemorate the implementation of the 1967 Abortion Act, which has resulted in the death of over 8 million unborn babies. The London pro-life chain will take place on Blackfriars Bridge from 11am-1pm Saturday 25th April. Your local contact for this chain is Rhoslyn Thomas, who can be contacted on 07837687344. Please come along and bring friends and family with you to commemorate the lost lives of unborn babies.

Clergy Support Fund Campaign - Volunteers needed! The Diocese has asked that all parishes recruit 3 volunteers for a fundraising committee to help raise funds for Clergy Support Fund.  We need people who have good fundraising skills or experience and who would be able on taking on such a project.  On Saturday 9th May 10.30am, the South East Area Representative, Kenneth Atmore is organising a meeting at English Martyrs Hall in Streatham to help lead and instruct on what they would need to do get the campaign under way within our Deanery.  If you are interested in being one of our volunteers, please see Fr Christopher this weekend.
This fund helps sick and retired priests within our Diocese.  You can find out more about the fund and why they are asking for everyone's help at the following website www.southwarkclergysupportfundcampaign.org.
