2nd Sunday of Lent

Welcome to Fr Martin Edwards - He was born in Beckenham and was educated there at the Challoner School and later at St Andrew’s University in Scotland.  Sensing a vocation he went to the famous Seminary of Econne in Switzerland founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre who had been the Superior General of the Holy Ghost Fathers, the Papal delegate and Bishop for all of French West Africa and a unique contributor at the Second Vatican council.  Providence led Fr Martin to Rome in the mid 80’s anticipating reconciliation with the Holy See which never fully happened.  Studying at the English College and the Angelicum (where Fr Andrew is now), he was ordained in 1991.  Since then he has served in Tunbridge Wells, Tooting Bec, South Norwood and is  now the Parish Priest of St Mary Magdalene’s, Wandsworth East Hill.  He is also the national chaplain for Aid to the Church in Need.  (Fr CB is in Wandsworth)
