3rd Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday)

Thank you for the Bazaar: The money received so far from all the various events have now been counted and we managed to make a profit of £10,679.  A summary of how each stall did is pinned to the notice boards and copies are available for you to take home.

Welcome to Fr Stephen Boyle: He was born and raised in nearby Tooting and was educated at Salesian College, King’s London and in Rome.  Fr Stephen was Parish Priest at Good Shepherd Church in New Addington, near Croydon until 2012 and is now the Parish Priest in St Anslem’s in Dartford and is a member of the FAITH Movement which attempts an intellectual synthesis between evolutionary science and faith.  He has been the Spiritual Director and Southwark Chaplain to the of The Guild of St Stephen since 2000 when he took over from Fr CB.  He organises and runs the “Altar Servers Summertime” at Woldingham which some of our Altar Servers attend as well as the October Half-Term trip to Rome for Altar Servers each year.
Don’t forget to go to Confession as he will be available for all of us this weekend.

Welcome to Fr Ricardo Mauti: from Argentina.  He is staying with us for two months whilst he works on his Doctorate Thesis on Cardinal Newman.

Please pray for the family of Ms Laura Lowney who is our assistant head at St Bede’s School.  Her father had a tragic accident in Ireland last Thursday.  He was only 54 years old.  RIP

Christmas Carols: Please join the Good Counsel Network on Monday the 15th of December at Westminster station from 4-8pm and on the 22nd of December at Piccadilly Circus underground station underground station from 4-8pm to sing Christmas carols and raise money to save mothers and babies from abortion! Fri 19th:  The 9am Mass will be moved to 9.30am and will take place in St Bernadette's School.
Sat 20th:  There will be an additional Mass at 12pm for Professor Peter Greach RIP who's first anniversary is this weekend.

  • Christmas Eve:
    6.30pm Children’s Mass.
    8pm (Convent) Misa En Espanol.
    9pm (Latin);
    Midnight Mass.  
  • Christmas Day:
    10.45 (Latin)
    No Evening Mass.  
  • Boxing Day:
    9am (Convent);
    10am (English)
    10.45am (Latin).  
  • New Years Eve:
    10.30pm Exposition;
    11.30pm Solemn Te Deum & Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament;
    followed by Midnight Mass. 

Adoration on Thursdays: Please ensure a presence between 10.15 and 11.30; we need this Adoration to continue.

Church Cleaners - 19th/20th Dec: Adebayo family, Gloria Nwoso, Blessing Osefo and Gina Uraih.  
The rotas for January to June 2015 will be going out within the next week or so.  If you would like access to the online version, please give your email address to one of the priests (currently posted on Google Drive). 

African & Caribbean Association: will be having their Advent gathering party on today after the 9:30am Mass.

Parish Leafletting: : in the spirit of Evangelisation, we are attempting to leaflet the entire parish.  This will be an invitation to come and join us at Mass and advertise Christmas and the four Advent Preachers.  We need volunteers to do either your own road, block of flats or a road or a block for which have no volunteers. See Fr Christopher or Fr Simon to sign up.

Made for Glory Advent Calendar: The team at the Vocations Centre have been working on a series of short commentaries on the Gospel for each day of Advent. Produced by young people for young people, the 2-min videos can be used in a variety of different contexts to help foster a spirit of Christian discipleship.
