2nd Sunday of Advent

Thank you for the Bazaar: A huge amount of work and generosity have got into the annual parish bazaar, we are now hovering between £10 – 11,000 in profit and still awaiting further donations.  The list of the winners of the Grand Draw and the list of the raffle prizes are available.  If I can find the Bistro prize winners, I will print them out.  I have lost the Dinner prize list but there were so many – Maria Chang and Michael Burke won the two auctioned restaurant prizes.  Comfort Adu, Anne Keenan and little Serena Pagliardi (niece of Gloria who sings in the choir) won the three top prizes in the Grand Draw.  Congratulations, many thanks and next week we hope to provide the accounts sheet for every stall. fCB

Fr Michael Holman SJ: He was educated at Oxford and was Headmaster of this old school, Wimbledon College (where several of St Bede’s boys have gone).  Now he is the Rector of Heythrop College, London University.
Don’t forget to go to Confession as he will be available for all of us this weekend.

Advent Preachers 2014:
  1. 12/13th December - Fr Stephen Boyle.
  2. 19/20th December -  Fr Terry Martin.

Welcome back to Fr Andrew: who is passing through before heading off to St Petersburg on Tuesday for a few days.  He will be back next weekend and will stay with us until after Christmas.

Congratulations to: Fr Thomas Bakulumpagi who was ordained on Friday evening at St George’s Cathedral by Archbishop Peter Smith and Br Stephen Morrison O.Praem who was ordained yesterday in Chelmsford.  Stephen was Head-Boy at Chavagnes and he has played the organ here at Midnight Mass some years ago.

Adoration on Thursday: If there is no one here between 10 – 11am we will have to stop Exposition – it is an insult.

First Communion Meeting: today after 9.30am Mass for all parents and First Communion Candidates.

Sister Maria Teresa of the Child Jesus O.D.C: died on 29th November.  She was Ted Emenonyou’s sister and one of the foundresses of the First Carmelites in Nigeria.  This was in Owerri in Imo State and was founded from Rathmines in Dublin, Ireland.  RIP
