29th Sunday (Old Rite: XIX Sunday after Pentecost / Dedication of Cathedral Church)

October - Month of the Holy Rosary. The Rosary is one of the simplest prayers to say.  One can say it anytime and anywhere.  James Foley, who was the first hostage to be killed, testified that the Rosary helped him a lot.  It may be easy to say but it has a huge depth.  Often it is difficult for us to concentrate but let us try to say it with love.  With the five decades we can have five different intentions and Heaven knows how we must pray for peace, the Ebola crisis and for all our own families.

Bazaar (Fri 28th / Sat 29th Nov): Don’t forget to put the date in your diaries and come along to the next meeting on 11th November at 7.30pm!   Each year we set ourselves the challenge to raise the £14,000 needed for our annual payment to the Diocese, and we need YOUR help & support. Donations of GOOD items are needed please - fancy goods; jewellery; toys, empty jam jars; religious articles; CDs & DVDs; drinks for the bottle stall and raffle prizes; homemade crafts, jams & chutneys.  We do not want electrical items, jumble, videos or books!  When out shopping why not think of us when you see the ‘Buy-one-get-one-free’ offers – it won’t cost you anything but helps us and our schools.

Bags 2 the Future: As part of our drive to raise funds towards our £14,000 benchmark for our schools, we are repeating our bags 2 the future project. We will be paid 50p per kilo.  Please take a bag or two home with you and start preparing for our collection date of Wednesday 5th November 2014 by 9am, by putting aside all your good quality second hand adults and children`s clothing, soft toys, shoes, belts and handbags. All items collected are for re-use - we are not collecting dirty or wet clothing, single shoes, off cuts of material, mats, carpets, pillows, duvets, bedding, towels, cutains or bric A Brac.  Please bring your bags back from Sunday 26th October, not before, due to limited storage and not after the 4th of November.  Thank you for supporting The St Bedes Bazaar and related Initiatives.
