26th Sunday (Old Rite: XVI Sunday after Pentecost)

Bazaar (Fri 28th / Sat 29th Nov):  Please think of one really nice object to bring for the fancy goods stall.  Also please think of ways in which you could volunteer for the big weekend.  Every little bit of effort helps to achieve the goal!  Chris Brew-Graves has kindly offered to organise the 'Bags2thefuture' again which raises around £200 each year towards our total.  More details will be given nearer the time.  Don't forget to put Wednesday 8th October in your diaries - next Bazaar meeting!

Scouts: Marco Lecca is our new Group Scout Leader and he needs some help.  They need any adult help possible on Friday evenings and also someone to help be Secretary or Treasurer.  These children are the future of our nation.  Please think seriously about this – you can make a difference!

Accommodation: We have a new organist and choir director named Andrew Cichy.  He is a ‘Polish Australian’ and was in charge of the music in Perth.  He has been finishing his second doctorate in Germany.  He hopes to return from Australia next month but very much needs a room that is in striking distance from St Bede’s.  Please help the parish as this is a priority in our worship.

Rosary Crusade of Reparation – Saturday 11th October: For the 30th time, the Rosary Crusade will take to the streets of London in honour of Our Lady in the month of the Holy Rosary.  The Crusade follows the route from Westminster Cathedral to the Brompton Oratory, and is led by the First Holy Communion children & Servers.  It starts at 2.15pm & finishes around 5pm.  Details of how to make a donation towards the costs of putting on this spectacular event can be found on their website or poster.

Aid to the Church in Need Day: On Saturday 11th October at Westminster Cathedral.  Speakers include Archbishop Elias Nassar (of the Maronite Church, Saida, Lebanon), Bishop Boris Gudziak, (President of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv), Fr Michael Shields (who ministers to the faithful in Magadan in the Kolyma region of Siberia) and John Pontifex. Holy Mass followed by talks in Cathedral Hall. Tickets: £10 each. Book tickets early by calling 020 8642 8668 or by booking online via their website.

Please remember St Bede's in your Will: In 2005 / 2006 preparing for the centenary of our Church, we received a substantial legacy from Jean Cullinan RIP.  This very generous gift enabled us to rewire Church, Club and Presbytery and to completely redecorate the Church.  We are now considering the development of the front and back gardens, but all these things depend on the generosity of people when they make their will.  Don’t forget St Bede's.

FAITH Movement London Talks: Next talk to be held on Tuesday 7th October.  All welcome 7.30pm in the basement of 24 Golden Square, W1F 9JR – nearest tube Piccadilly Circus.  For more info, please see poster on notice board or visit their website
