3rd Sunday of Easter (Old Rite: 2nd Sunday after Easter)

May - The month of Our Lady: This beautiful month with blossoms, flowers and magnificence of colour is dedicated to our Blessed Lady.  St Bernadette of Lourdes said “nothing down here can compare to the beauty which I have seen”.  The natural beauty of spring and summer is a foreshadowing of the Testament; our Blessed Lady is seen in the midst of the Apostles and early Christians praying for the gift of the Holy Spirit.  In the same way we follow the example of Mary, Mother of the Lord in praying for the graces that each of us need.

Next Sunday at the 12.30 Mass, Bishop Patrick Lynch will be here for the Confirmations.  On Saturday we will have a preparation day starting at 11.30 & On Sunday, all candidates should be at St Bede’s school by 11.45, for the group photo.

Special Sunday – Today: at 10.45am Mass. Sung by Cantores Missae, under the direction of Charles Finch and financially sponsored by the Latin Mass Society.

African & Caribbean Thanksgiving Mass will be held at 12.30pm on 18th May.  All are welcome to come along.

Gift Aid Scheme: Maria Chang, our Gift Aid co-ordinator will be handing out the new boxes of envelopes.  If you are not yet a participant, please consider joining the scheme as it greatly helps the parish finances – at no cost to you!  If you are a tax payer, the Church can claim back the tax that you paid, increasing any donation that you make by 25% - (or more if you are a higher rate tax payer).  This includes your Mass intention offerings and Easter/Christmas Offerings – so don’t forget to put your gift aid number on these too!
You can pick up a form from the back of Church, speak to Maria or visit our 'Supporting Our Parish' page and download the forms.  The easiest way to give money is through a standing order set-up with your bank.
We would like to thank all parishioners who already participate in the scheme.  It is essential that you notify the Gift Aid Coordinator if stop paying Income Tax – especially in light of recent changes in the personal allowance!

Fatima Presentation at St Anslems: Donal Foley, secretary of the World Apostolate of Fatima, will give an inspiring talk about Our Lady’s apparitions at Fatima and their importance for us, on Friday 9th May after the 6.15pm Mass in the New Hall at St Anslem's, Tooting Bec .  The talk will be accompanied by a PowerPoint and DVD presentation.
