26th Sunday OT (Old Rite XIX Sunday after Pentecost - St Michael)

Annual Bazaar: 29th / 30th November: Please start to bring in your GOOD items - bottles, fancy goods, jewellery, cake making materials, empty jars for the jam makers, good-as-new toys, religious articles, handmade crafts, homemade jams & chutneys, CDs & DVDs. We don’t want Jumble, Videos, Encyclopaedias or Electrical goods please.  The next planning meeting is Monday 14th October at 8pm – we hope to see you there!  Please think seriously how YOU can help make a difference to this annual fundraiser which is increasingly challenging!

The Union of Catholic Mothers (UCM): meet every Thursday and all ladies are welcome.  Usually we have a Mass at 8pm followed by a meeting with varied activities.  This week we will have the Mass earlier to welcome Mary Piper, the UCM Diocesan President and Mary Burt, the treasurer, as 7 of our ladies will be awarded service certificates for several decades in the UCM which gives such wonderful service to our parish.

Family Fast Collection for Syria - next week: This year we are obviously thinking of the devastation and tragedy in Syria.  Over 100,000 people have been killed and millions are in refugee camps in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan.  Over a million Christians have left Syria for Lebanon.  Please be generous (A.C.N).

Spanish Civil War Martyrs: will be beatified in Barcelona on Saturday 12th October.  Bishop Pat will be going as several young members of his congregation were martyred and Sister Micaela will be representing our Sisters as they have 4 to be beatified.  Revd Mother will be at the main Masses next week with literature.

Rosary Crusade of Reparation - Saturday 12th October 2.15pm: For the 29th time, the Rosary Crusade will take to the streets of London in honour of Our Lady in the month of the Holy Rosary. The Crusade attracts a procession of roughly 2000 people each year & follows the route from Westminster Cathedral to the Brompton Oratory, which owes its foundation to the Blessed John Henry Newman. The First Holy Communion children & Servers lead the way & this year, Fr Christopher will be the preacher. It will start at 2.15pm & finish at 5pm. Unfortunately changes in procedures for the Met Police, and them no longer providing the traffic management required for such a large event, has meant that the costs for staging this event have greatly increased. The organisers would be grateful for any donations to help cover the additional £2,000 cost. If you would like to help, you can donate via their website (www.rosarycrusadeofreparation.blogspot.com) or by sending them a cheque, address on poster or leaflets at back of Church.  Why not check out their blog as well - link on the sidebar

Parish Council Meeting:  tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Presbytery.
