Corpus Christi (Old Rite: II Sunday after Pentecost)

Corpus Christi: Last Thursday and this Sunday we celebrate this wonderful feast of the Blessed Sacrament.  In union with Pope Francis, many Churches throughout the world are going to have Adoration.  We will start at 4pm and sum it up with Vespers sung by both choirs.  As J.R.R Tolkien (author of the Hobbit etc) says; ''Out of the darkness of my life, so much frustrated, I put before you the one great thing to love on earth: the Blessed Sacrament.....There you will find romance, glory, honour, fidelity, and the true way of all your loves upon earth, and more than that: Death: by the divine paradox, that which ends life, and demands the surrender of all, and yet by the taste (or foretaste) of which alone can what you seek in your earthly relationships (love, faithfulness, joy) be maintained, or take on that complexion of reality, of eternal endurance, which every man's heart desires.''.  Our Corpus Christ procession is on Sunday 30th June!

June - Month of the Sacred Heart: On Friday 7th we celebrate the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, but the whole month is dedicated to this aspect of his sacred humanity “O Sacred Heart of Jesus we implore – the grace to love this more and more”.
Today marks the 60th anniversary of HM Queen Elizabeth's Coronation at Westminster Abbey which took place on 2nd June 1953.
