Most Holy Trinity

St Bede the Venerable (673-735) is our heavenly patron and Monday we will celebrate his feast at both Masses.  We pray that he may obtain for us the grace to observe our faith as he did with joy and enthusiasm.  The chronicles of the time testify him being “one of the most observant and happy of Monks”.  May he, in the communion of Saints, by the power of the Holy Spirit teach us this simple lesson: that happiness is the fruit of observance which entails daily discipline.

May Procession Today:  At 2pm this afternoon there will be a May procession with Rosary, Benediction and Crowning of Our Blessed Lady.  Before this, there will be ‘Bring & Share’ lunch in the club.

Welcome: at 8am Fr David Stanley, who retired from Clapham Common parish (St Vincent de Paul) last year and is now living in West Norwood.  At 9.30am we welcome Fr Donald Minchew of the Ordinariate who lives in South Croydon and helps at St Mary’s.

Lourdes Pilgrims with Mgr Leo White: left this morning at 6.30am and should be back please God on Saturday evening.  They will be praying for all of us at the Grotto.  On Tuesday some of the others go to Aylesford for their Annual UCM Pilgrimage.
Arnold Gregory RIP 1926-2013: who lived at Telferscot Road was cremated last Thursday.  Sadly his non-Catholic relatives excluded him from having a Requiem Mass.  Make sure you stipulate this in your will to make sure such a thing doesn’t happen to you!  We are grateful to Arnold for leaving St Bede’s a £1000 in his will.  Don’t forget St Bede’s in your will.

Mass Readers: are needed for Saturday & Sunday evening Masses starting from July 2013.  If you are interested, please give your details to Fr Christopher.
Mass Offerings: needed for Convent, Saturday evenings & Sun mornings especially the 8am Masses.   Don’t forget you can Gift Aid them as well – so put your number on the envelope too!

UCM Table-Top: last Sunday raised £199.  Thanks to all who came to support.

Race Night: Saturday 8th June - doors open 7pm - first race 7.30pm.  Admission will be £3 (includes finger buffet; Bar will also be open).  Horses can be bought and named for £5.  This is being held in memory of Kane Gorny with funds raised going to AvMa - a charity which provides practical support to families who have lost loved ones as a result of medical accidents. Please contact Mick Cronin to purchase tickets and horse or hand an envelope marked "Race Night" with money and your name to the Presbytery.
