23rd Sunday of OT (Old Rite: XV Sunday after Pentecost)

CAROL CARDENAS – RECEIVES THE WHITE VEIL: Yesterday in Madrid, Carol Cardenas from St Bede’s (you can see her picture on the left, with Tom’s, as you enter the Church) received the white veil of a Novice. She was with two others and that ceremony formally begins her two-year novitiate. In two years, God willing, she will receive the black veil at her first Profession of Vows. In the old days the reception of the white veil was a much grander public ceremony which involved the candidates wearing wedding dresses as brides of Christ. In some places there was even the cutting of hair analogous to the Tonsure that a young man received on his way towards the Priesthood. Today the ceremony has been simplified and Carol and her two companions received the white veil from Mother Provincial. We are so proud of Carol and her family who have been regular worshippers at Saturdays Spanish Mass for 15 years. La Retraite School (where Carol studied) is also proud as this is the first vocation from there in many years. Please pray for more vocations!

WELCOME BACK FR ANDREW: here for three more weeks before he heads off to Rome.
GOODBYE TO FR GABRIEL DIAZ: Bon Voyage and thank you!
