The Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ

(Holy Family Jesus Mary & Joseph - Old Rite)

Every year at the beginning of January we have a collection for the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) White Flower appeal. In common with the Catholic Church, SPUC defends and upholds the sanctity of human life from conception until natural death. The Society's work covers a wide spectrum of
issues. It seeks to protect unborn children from abortion and defends the disabled, elderly and incapacitated from euthanasia and assisted suicide. SPUC also provides trained speakers for schools and offers pro-life support for teachers, parents and medical professionals. Please give generously to this very worthy cause.

BAZAAR: The final total for the Bazaar is £13,147.55. Thank you to everyone who helped out and who came along to support us, making this the most successful Bazaar in years.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: don't forget to do some work in your special books. Next Sunday all First Communicants should attend 9.30 Mass, and afterwards we will begin our preparations. It is important for parents and/or guardians to take an active role in helping your child to prepare for the sacraments of Confession & Communion.

WELCOME ERITREANS. Today at 12.15 we are welcoming Fr Kidane who will celebrate a Ge'ez Rite Mass to commemorate their Christmas yesterday. We are proud to have these parishioners from such an ancient Christian tradition. St Mark brought the Gospel to Egypt in the year after the Ascension and from there the faith was brought up the Nile to these venerable ancient Christian people.
